It's been a complete 180 for the Dallas Cowboys this season, as they turned their dreadful 2020 campaign into a dominant showing so far, 7 weeks into the 2021 NFL season. The Boys sit at 5-1, comfortably in front of each of the other 3 NFC East teams, and have not lost since a Week 1 battle that came down to the final seconds.

For that reason, Dallas would have a good shot at winning it all if they look to go all-in on their shot at a Super Bowl this year. With arguably the league's best offense, and a defensive infrastuture that's built for takeaways (see Diggs, Trevon), all the Cowboys need is consistent discipline and interior pressure to take the leap to the next level of dominance.

As the New England Patriots showed in the last game Dallas played, the Cowboys are still vulnerable on defense. Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson gashed them on the ground to the tune of 124 yards and 2 touchdowns on 24 carries, while Mac Jones put up 229 yards and 2 touchdowns on 15/21 passing. As they couldn't get any push at the point of attack, and were vulnerable outside of Trevon Diggs' in coverage, it became evident that Dallas is in need of more D-line depth and a better No. 2 corner.

As the trade deadline approaches, who are 2 trade targets the Cowboys should go for if they want a shot at glory in 2021? Here are 2 names they must consider.

Cowboys Trades

Javon Hargrave – Philadelphia Eagles

When it comes to stopping the run, everything starts in the trenches. Dallas was unable to get any sort of push against the Patriots, and they allowed Sam Darnold to run for 2 touchdowns against them back in Week 4. The addition of Javon Hargrave, from an Eagles team that has the looks of potentially giving up this season to prepare for next, would give the Cowboys an immediate boost through both the air and ground. Hargrave, even at the defensive tackle position, has racked up 6 sacks and 7 tackles for loss on the year – beastly numbers that would have any defensive coordinator foaming at the mouth. The numbers are backed up by Pro Football Focus too, who have recently graded Hargrave as a top-10 interior lineman.

Bryce Callahan – Denver Broncos

The Broncos have expressed interest in trading away players from their deep cornerback room as their season spirals out of control. One such target for the Cowboys should be Bryce Callahan, who would provide an upgrade at the No. 2 cornerback position across from Diggs. According to PFF, Callahan allowed a passer rating of only 46.9 when quarterbacks threw into his coverage in 2019, making him one of the league's most underrated cover guys, bar none. Unfortunately, he has been chosen to come off the bench for Denver, as they've got huge talents in Patrick Surtain and Kyle Fuller ahead of him. As an expendable but dynamic talent, Dallas should be able to get Callahan for a bargain in his contract season from Denver.
