The Los Angeles Dodgers are once again one of MLB's best teams in 2022. They are going to be buying ahead of the 2022 MLB trade deadline. This means LA is scouting their farm system and deciding what prospects are worth trading. This can be a difficult process, since no team wants to trade baseball's next superstar. Today, we are going to take a look at 2 Dodgers prospects who should be considered untouchable during trade season.
And there will be one exception which will be discussed at the end of this article.

2 Dodgers prospects who should be untouchable at 2022 MLB trade deadline
Diego Cartaya, C
Diego Cartaya is the Dodgers No. 1 prospect and MLB pipeline's No. 15 overall prospect. He has climbed up the rankings after beginning the season ranked at No. 28 overall.
Cartaya features impressive power potential to go along with defensive prowess behind the plate. He isn't going to steal you any bases and his contact ability could use some work. But in terms of catching prospects, Cartaya is about as good as it gets.
Dodgers fans may point to the fact that Will Smith is Los Angeles' catcher for the foreseeable future. But the thought of trading top-tier catching prospects in back-to-back seasons is worrisome. The Dodgers traded Keibert Ruiz to the Nationals last season in the Trea Turner/Max Scherzer deal.
Good hitting catchers are a rarity in today's game. So Los Angeles should hold onto Diego Cartaya. He is only 20 years old so the Dodgers can take their time with him in their farm system. There is no rush to get him to the big leagues just yet.
Bobby Miller, SP
Bobby Miller reminds me of Walker Buehler with his poise on the mound.
Miller is a 23-year old who is MLB pipeline's No. 28 overall prospect. The right-hander features a blazing fastball which is complimented by a nasty slider and changeup. Miller's main concern is his control. He sometimes has a tough time finding the strike zone. But he has the potential to become a star without question.
And frankly, there isn't anybody on the trade market (with one exception which will be listed below) who is worth giving up Miller for. At 23 years old, Bobby Miller should be MLB ready sooner than later. LA has a good one on their hands.
This organization just keeps pumping out incredible young pitching.
The Exception
The one exception is Juan Soto.
The Nationals are not expected to trade Soto ahead of the 2022 MLB trade deadline. However, Soto's resiliency to sign a long-term contract with Washington has people wondering if he could be moved this season.
And if there is any chance of landing him, the Dodgers need to take it.
Soto is a 23 year old superstar. He has already put together an impressive big league career. And he may not have even reached his full potential yet given his youthful age.
The Dodgers certainly could make an exception with Diego Cartaya or Bobby Miller if it means landing Juan Soto. In fact, they would probably need to add one of them to a deal in order to make this trade come to fruition.
Placing Juan Soto in a batting order with Mookie Betts, Trea Turner, Freddie Freeman, and the rest of the Dodgers' stacked lineup would be nothing short of historic.
