Blake Wesley is coming over to the NBA from South Bend after the San Antonio Spurs made him the 25th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. A product of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball program, Wesley is looking to make the most out of his opportunity to parlay his success under Mike Brey into a much more impactful stint in the pros.

During his time with the Fighting Irish, Wesley led the team to March Madness where they went as far as the second round where they got stopped by the Texas Tech Red Raiders. While that was a pretty early exit for the Fighting Irish, scouts have seen enough of Wesley's talents to project him as a potential lottery to mid-first-round selection.

Wesley is a force with the ball, especially when attacking the rim. While he's not always the fastest guy on the floor despite playing the guard position, Wesley effectively uses his length and craftiness with the leather to get to the basket and finish against shot-blockers.

There is a big room for improvement left for Wesley in the NBA. For one, he's not seen as an adequate shooter, as he was just a shade over 30 percent 3-point shooter in his lone season with the Fighting Irish, making just 1.5 of 5.1 attempts from deep per contest. He also struggled on the charity stripe, sinking just 65.7 percent of his free-throw shots. Those can definitely be fixed in the NBA, especially with the guidance that will be provided to him by the Spurs.
