Tom Brady and the New England Patriots were shockingly upset by the Tennessee Titans on Saturday night in the Wild Card matchup. It was a big surprise, to say the least, and may bring major change to the proud franchise. That change could come in the form of Brady leaving town in free agency.
Rumors have been circulating that the Patriots and Brady could be headed for a divorce this offseason. He can enter free agency, which would give him the opportunity to sign wherever he wants.
His relationship with Bill Belichick has been called into question this season. Even his demeanor after being knocked out of the playoffs by the Titans was scrutinized. The writing could be on the wall for Brady in New England.
All of that being said, if Tom Brady is willing to leave town for another opportunity, which three teams would be the best destinations for him in free agency?
3. Miami Dolphins
To start things off, let's keep it in the AFC East division. Signing with the Miami Dolphins would give Tom Brady a new challenge to work with and would also give him a chance to get revenge on the Patriots. Miami has a lot of work to do, but they showed a lot of promise down the stretch of the season under the leadership of first-year head coach and former Patriots' coaching staff member Brian Flores.
Brady would be able to be the leader the Dolphins need. He would bring a championship mentality to the young roster. If the Dolphins have a chance to snag Brady in free agency, you can bet they will jump on it.
2. Carolina Panthers
How about a move to the NFC for Tom Brady? The Panthers are in the middle of searching for a new head coach and Patriots' offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is among their candidates. It would be interesting for Brady to join McDaniels in Carolina if that is the direction the two parties decided to go.
Carolina will have a tough decision to make on Cam Newton this offseason, who has struggled in a big way over the last couple of years. They do seem to have a roster capable of competing in the NFC, but they need a championship caliber quarterback. Brady could provide that and help them get back to Super Bowl contention.
1. Indianapolis Colts
Finally, we're going to list the Patriots' biggest rival on this list at the top of the priority list. Tom Brady signing with the Indianapolis Colts would be a staggering move for the Patriots. He would stay in the conference and join a Colts' team that has a lot of talent and could be immediate contenders with Brady under center.
Colin Cowherd listed the Colts as a potential landing spot for Brady this offseason to start the rumors.
It would be one of the strangest things that the NFL has ever seen. Bringing back memories of Brett Favre with the Minnesota Vikings against the Green Bay Packers, Brady going up against the Patriots with a Colts' jersey on would be crazy. Indianapolis has the money and need and would be the top destination for Brady if he leaves New England.
