The 2022 NFL free agency is nearly here, which means it's time to break down the offseason outlook for Dalton Schultz. After bursting onto the scene as a reliable pass option for the Dallas Cowboys, Schultz may end up hitting the open market. He's a well-balanced tight end that should fetch plenty of interest throughout the offseason.

Not only is Dalton Schultz an excellent receiving target, but he also blocks extremely well. He played a large part in helping the Cowboys succeed, but the front office might not be able to afford to re-sign him back to the team. For that reason, we could see Schultz sign a big deal once free agency opens.

Every franchise could use a tight end like Dalton Schultz, but only one will be able to sign him. Three teams stand out as perfect fits, as Schultz would immediately upgrade these offenses if added. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out, but we should see a nice bidding war for the talented tight end during the 2022 NFL free agency.

With that said, here are our three potential Dalton Schultz free agency landing spots.

Dalton Schultz Free Agency Landing Spots

3. New York Jets

Although the New York Jets likely won't be a playoff team next year, the offense is in dire need of a competent tight end. Dalton Schultz would bring massive improvements to the blocking schemes while acting as a safe target for Zach Wilson as well. Having Schultz working alongside Elijah Moore and Corey Davis would give New York a solid base receiving core.

The Jets have some work to do if they hope to improve, as most of their focus should be on fixing the offensive line. Regardless, the front office could make a move to sign Dalton Schultz, as he'd be a great addition to help Wilson develop. New York has a ton of cap space as well, which means they can win a bidding war if they need to.

2. Indianapolis Colts

Although the Indianapolis Colts are likely addressing the quarterback position this offseason, the front office could make a splash signing during free agency. The tight end group has been inconsistent lately, making Dalton Schultz a fantastic option for this offense. Indianapolis isn't too far away from becoming a playoff contender once again and having Schultz helps this team in the long run.

If the Colts can sign Schultz, their offense improves immediately. The quarterback situation is up in the air, however, Indianapolis would have the pieces in place to entice interest from any quarterback in the league. We'll see how it plays out, but don't be surprised if this franchise makes a push to sign Dalton Schultz.

1. Tennessee Titans

After letting Jonnu Smith walk last offseason, the Tennessee Titans found themselves struggling in the tight end department. They mainly consisted of blocking tight ends that didn't provide much help in the passing game. It's expected this franchise makes major changes to this position group, making Dalton Schultz an intriguing option.

The Titans already have a stacked roster and have a chance to become an early Super Bowl favorite. Signing Dalton Schultz makes the offense a legitimate threat and that's before the front office readjusts the wide receiver room. If Tennesse hopes to win a championship, they should highly consider adding Schultz to the roster.
