Mitchell Trubisky lived in the shadow of Josh Allen this past season. Allen led the Buffalo Bills to the AFC East title and a long playoff run. The team made it to the divisional round, where they suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Trubisky made short appearances in four games throughout the Bills' 11-6 regular season. Despite the small sample size of eight attempts and six completions, Trubisky threw a completion percentage of 75.

Heading into the sixth season of his career, it's time for the quarterback to get the chance to lead his own team to success. Here are the top three landing spots for Trubisky in the 2022 NFL Free Agency.

Mitchell Trubisky Free Agency Landing Spots

3. The Chicago Bears

Trubisky began his NFL career with the Chicago Bears. The franchise selected him 2nd overall in the 2017 NFL Draft. He made his debut in Week 5 of 2017, after the Bears went 1-3 under quarterback Mike Glennon.

The Bears haven't been overwhelmingly successful since the reign of Mike Ditka in the 1980s and early 1990s. However, they did go to the playoffs twice in the four seasons that Trubisky was employed in Chicago.

Despite the past, it's time for both Trubisky and the Bears to give one another a second chance. Trubisky is more developed and experienced, and the Bears are in much better shape than they were two years ago.

After four years of disappointment, the team fired head coach Matt Nagy and moved on to hire first-time head coach Matt Eberflus. A coaching, quarterback change combination is exactly the kind of fresh start that the Bears need to build momentum.

2. The Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos are also on the market for a quarterback this offseason. Starter Teddy Bridgewater is a free agent, and the team has made no indications that it is extending his contract.

Denver would be a perfect landing spot for Trubisky because of the potential the team has for the 2022-2023 season. Running back Melvin Gordon shined last season, and wide receiver Tim Patrick showed growth potential.

Despite rising talents, the team went 7-10 on the season and ended up in last place in the AFC West. That being said, they hold the ninth overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Broncos could pick up Trubisky in free agency and capitalize on a promising wide receiver to pair up with him.

1. The Pittsburgh Steelers

Although this is easily the biggest stretch on the list, it would be the most ideal for the quarterback. The Steelers are relatively set when it comes to every position on their roster, except for quarterback.

That's where Trubisky would come into play. If he is surrounded by offensive weapons like Diontae Johnson and Najee Harris, Trubisky's success in Pittsburgh would basically be handed to him.

The Steelers' defense is also stacked, led by linebacker T.J. Watt and free safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. If Trubisky can fit into the Pittsburgh puzzle, the team could be on their way to a decent playoff run next season.
