The 2022 NFL Draft is an incredibly important moment for the New Orleans Saints. Not only do they have numerous holes to fill, but the franchise is participating in a tough NFC South division. If the front office can reel in the right players, this team could be making some noise late in the season.

Defensively, this team is near complete. The Saints have one of the best defenses in the league, which will keep them competitive. For that reason, we should expect to see New Orleans emphasize the offense early on in the NFL Draft. If they can do that, we should see this franchise giving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a run for their money.

Three players stand out as potential fits for the Saints at 18th overall. New Orleans can go in any direction, as the front office looks to load up the offense. We could see this franchise take an offensive lineman, a quarterback, or a wide receiver in the first round this year.

With that said, here are the three best fits for the Saints at the 2022 NFL Draft with the 18th overall selection.

Saints 2022 NFL Draft

3. Bernhard Raimann

The Saints have a decent offensive line as is, but they could use some youth to develop for the future. Bernhard Raimann is a great option for New Orleans, as he has the potential to make an immediate impact as well. Considering the offensive line is a bit on the older side, acquiring a rookie could help this team in the long run.

Raimann comes from Central Michigan and played tackle for several seasons. He's listed as the fifth-best prospect at his position, per CBS Sports. Although an offensive tackle isn't the most exciting selection for fans, it's a decision that could pay off greatly for the Saints moving forward.

2. Matt Corral

Jameis Winston is likely the starting quarterback, but it's not clear whether or not he'll be the long-term answer for the Saints. We could see the front office pull the trigger on a rookie quarterback to hedge their bets for the 2022 season. If they do, Matt Corral could be an excellent prospect for New Orleans to develop for a year or two.

We'll see if the Saints think bringing in a rookie quarterback makes sense. Corral likely won't make an impact right away, as the coaching staff looks to give Winston a legitimate chance. Regardless, Matt Corral would be a great addition to New Orleans' offense and give the coaching staff a chance to develop a prospect for a year or two.

1. Chris Olave

Let's face it, the biggest need for this team is wide receiver. Michael Thomas is coming back, but the Saints are lacking a competent second option. Chris Olave is generating a ton of buzz as the 2022 NFL Draft quickly approaches. He'd be a great pass option opposite Thomas, giving New Orleans a boost in the passing game they've been missing since Drew Brees' retirement.

Additionally, Jameis Winston is not afraid to sling it. Olave has proven to be a legitimate deep threat throughout his collegiate career, making him an intriguing option for the Saints. If he somehow falls to the 18th pick overall, don't be shocked if New Orleans takes the Ohio State Buckeye.
