When a team loses their starting quarterback, they usually do not have a former Pro Bowl player as a backup. For the New Orleans Saints, that is their reality. When Drew Brees went down with an injury, they handed the job to Teddy Bridgewater.

Bridgewater picked up an impressive win in his first start of the season on the road against the Seattle Seahawks. The Saints will return home to take on the 3-0 Dallas Cowboys this week. The Saints are currently three-point underdogs at home.

Here are three bold predictions for the Saints' new starting quarterback heading into a big game against Dallas.

3. Bridgewater and Kamara Reach Double-Digits

There is no better receiver out of the backfield than Alvin Kamara. He is the ultimate dual-threat back who is MVP good. Kamara is a backup quarterbacks dream and Bridgewater proved that in his first start.

Kamara totaled nine catches against the Seahawks. He was used early and often as a receiver. In those nine catches, Kamara had 94 yards and a touchdown. Dallas, like Seattle, is strong on defense. Kamara will be featured many times again. Bridgewater might target Kamara close to 15 times and he will catch at least 10 of them. That is a ton of catches for a running back in one game, but Kamara has that ability.

2. Hat Trick

Bridgewater did not throw for many yards against the Seahawks, but he did finish with two touchdowns. Add one more to that number this week against the Cowboys. Bridgewater tosses three touchdowns at home.

The front seven of the Cowboys is elite. Their group of linebackers are young and fast. Demarcus Lawrence is as good as they come rushing the quarterback. But their secondary has holes.

The Saints are a creative offense with Michael Thomas as their No. 1 receiver. When your backup quarterback is under center, you cannot be conservative. The Saints will show Dallas' defense some new schemes and that will work in Bridgewater's favor.

1. Saints Defend Home Field

Bridgewater is no pushover. He is a former first-round pick who has been to a Pro Bowl and should have won a playoff game if it weren't for Blair Walsh. Bridgewater has played in big games and has won them.

In 2018, the Saints traveled to Dallas on a Thursday night and got upset by the lesser Cowboys. One year later, the Cowboys are rolling and viewed as one of the favorites in the NFC. This is the time for the Saints to return the favor in a big time game as home underdogs.
