The Atlanta Falcons fell short of a championship run this season — so how can they make it right in 2019 and beyond? Let's look at the offseason to see.

One of the first things we have to take a look at is the fact that the Falcons have fired Steve Sarkisian and Keith Armstrong — and this, combined with the fact that they let Marquand Manuel walk, means that by default, Matt Ryan is going to take a lot more control of the offense. And while, historically, this proves to be a good idea, burning question number one is: are the Atlanta Falcons willing to do that?

Secondly, we have to see which players the Falcons are willing to pick up once the draft officially opens. Per Sports Talk ATL, there are a few players that are looking good in the mock draft, and the question is, are the Atlanta Falcons open to this?

“1. DT Jeffery Simmons

2. OG Chris Lindstrom

3. EDGE Oshane Ximines

4. WR Chase Claypool

4C. TE Zach Gentry

5. LB Khalil Hodge

5C. S/LB Chase Hansen

6. CB Jamal Peters

7. S Jalen Young

Each of these picks gives the Falcons young and hungry guys that can live up to Dan Quinn’s standards. Fast and physical will yet again be something the Falcons strive for in 2019. With these guys in the fold, Dan Quinn should be able to get the maximum potential out of this team next season.”

Finally, the question about the big picture needs to be asked. Are they willing, for example, to fix the offensive line? Are they willing to let Tevin Coleman go? Are they willing to sharpen their pencil when it comes to Vic Beasley's contract? These are just a few of the many things the Atlanta Falcons have to ask themselves if they want a shot at being a viable team in 2019 and beyond.
