The Arizona Cardinals Week 15 matchup against the Detroit Lions didn't go as expected. It was like watching Freaky Friday, the teams played completely opposite of their expectations. With the playoffs just around the corner, now might be the time for Arizona to hit the panic button. We take a look at this Cardinals-Lions game with some of our Cardinals Week 15 takeaways in mind.

One bright spot on the Cardinals' offense was the rushing attack. Although James Conner and Chase Edmonds combined for just 92 rushing yards, the duo were incredibly efficient. Maybe Arizona should have stuck with the run game, as Kyler Murray has had two bad performances in a row now.

The playoffs are looming near and it appears the Cardinals are falling apart. This team hasn't looked great recently, which doesn't bode well for their playoff hopes. With a terrible loss like this to the Lions, Arizona fans might be getting worried with just a few games left in the season.

With that said, here are three Cardinals Week 15 takeaways from their game against the Lions.

Cardinals Week 15 Takeaways

3. James Conner and Chase Edmonds played well, despite bad loss

They finished the day with 92 total rushing yards and two touchdowns. Not great, however, the running back duo was incredibly efficient with their opportunities. Edmonds averaged 8.8 yards per attempt, while Conner averaged 4.9.

The running game was working, the Cardinals just didn't do it enough. It didn't help that the Lions took a big lead in the first half. For that reason, Arizona had to play catch up and typically that means the rushing attack disappears. It's a shame, as Edmonds and Conner could have had big performances.

2. Something is wrong with Kyler Murray

Kyler Murray hasn't looked like himself recently. His passes are inaccurate and he looks uncomfortable in the pocket. The Cardinals' offense has been in disarray since his return. It's odd to see, especially since Murray looked like an MVP candidate to start the year.

We'll see if Murray can bounce back. The Cardinals still have a few games left on their schedule, giving him plenty of time to right the ship. Even so, these losses are costing Arizona playoff position and home-field advantage. Hopefully, Kyler Murray can get it back together sooner, rather than later. Otherwise, Arizona might be in trouble.

1. Cardinals are losing their grip at the worst time

It's been rough for the Cardinals recently and it's not looking great for this franchise. They've been red-hot throughout most of the season but it appears Arizona is coming unglued at the worst time. After losing to the Los Angeles Rams, they've turned around and lost to the Lions. It's not a great look for a team that was deemed the best in the league not long ago.

The Cardinals have just three games left and things could get interesting. They take on the Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys back-to-back, both of those teams playing some of their best football lately. Then, they finish the season against the Seattle Seahawks. Based on how this squad has looked, nothing is guaranteed for Arizona.
