The Philadelphia 76ers remain one of the biggest winners of the offseason thus far. So much so, that along with last season's Eastern Conference Runners-Up, the Milwaukee Bucks, the Sixers are widely considered as the favorites to come out of the East this year.

It is worth noting that Philadelphia lost two of their most important players from last season in Jimmy Butler and J.J. Redick. Despite reportedly being offered a max deal by the Sixers, Butler seemed to have already set his sights on moving on, as a sign-and-trade with the Miami Heat was eventually agreed on. For his part, Redick left as an unrestricted free agent, opting to sign a two-year $26.5 million deal with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Despite the significant losses, though, the Sixers more than made up for it by making some noteworthy acquisition themselves. They agreed on a four-year, $109 deal with former Boston Celtics big man Al Horford, and also snagged swingman Josh Richardson from the Heat as part of the Butler deal.

Nevertheless, the process is not complete for the Sixers just yet, and they still have some needs that they will need to address before the start of the new season. The current pool of remaining free agents is running thin, but there are still a number of players out there that can prove to be quite useful for Philadelphia for the upcoming season.

Jamal Crawford

It is no secret that the biggest void the Sixers have right now is in the shooting department. The departure of Redick (18.1 points on 44.1 percent shooting, 3.2 three-pointers on a 39.7-percent clip last season) was a big hit, and while Richardson (16.6 points on 41.2 percent shooting), 2.2 three-pointers on 35.7 percent from distance last year) will provide a much-needed shooting boost for the team, the Sixers will need more firepower.

This is where like a guy like Jamal Crawford — a winner of the league's Sixth Man of the Year trophy on three separate occasions — might come in handy. Granted, the 19-year veteran will be turning 40-years-old next March, and it is without question that he is no longer the scoring machine he once was a few years ago. However, as they say, once a shooter, always a shooter. Crawford is a career 34.8 percent shooter from beyond the arc, and while he may not be able to eclipse his career average of 1.7 three-pointers made per contest, the former eighth overall pick should still be able to serve as a scoring threat whenever he enters the floor with Philadelphia's second unit.

Trey Burke

Another area the Sixers can definitely improve on is in their backcourt depth. Right now, they only have Raul Neto as the only other point guard behind Ben Simmons, so the addition of another playmaker has got to be a priority for team general manager Elton Brand.

Former lottery pick Trey Burke seems to fit the mold. Last season with the New York Knicks and the Dallas Mavericks, the 6-foot-1 point guard put up 10.9 points (on 43.1 percent shooting), 1.0 three-pointers, 1.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 0.6 steals in 19.4 minutes of play. Burke is a playmaker that also has the ability to create his own shot, and might just prove to be a better backup option than Neto.

Thabo Sefolosha

While Thabo Sefolosha might no longer be the defensive anchor he once was some years ago, he might still be a useful addition for the Sixers. At 35, the former All-Defensive team member should still be able to provide some quality minutes off the bench, and be able to set the tone defensively for the second unit.

Sefolosha also has a ton of experience under his belt, and this might also prove to be an asset if he is asked to take on more of a mentoring role for the younger players on the squad. The 6-foot-7 wing might also be willing to take a pay cut (he earned $5.2 million last season with the Utah Jazz) given the promise of an extended playoff run with the Sixers next year, so they might just be able to sign him for the veteran's minimum.

There is very little doubt that Philadelphia will be entering the new season as a more formidable side compared to last year. They have one of the most complete starting line-ups in the league, and surely, they will be a force to be reckoned with.

However, Brand and company still have some work to do in rounding out their current lineup. Some tough decisions will need to be made within the next few weeks, but seeing how this front office has fared over the past few years, they should be able to make all the right ones.
