The Green Bay Packers had another successful season, including a postseason run for the third year in a row. Of course, none of this would be possible without the team's stars, like Aaron Rodgers, De'Vondre Campbell, and Davante Adams.

However, moving forward, the 2022-2023 roster is much different than it was last season. Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders early in the offseason, forcing the Packers to fill the vacancy left behind at wide receiver. Not to mention, this trade granted the team multiple draft picks, giving them the chance to pick up a handful of young talents.

In other words, there are a lot of new faces in the Packers' locker room. Here are the three new members of the team that you should keep an eye on throughout their first year with the team.

Packers Breakout Players for 2022 NFL Season

3. Quay Walker

The Packers didn't use either of their first-round draft picks for a wide receiver, which many expected them to do. Instead, they worked on bulking up their defense, starting with the 22nd overall pick Quay Walker.

The inside linebacker from Georgia will automatically serve as a key contributor to the Packers' defense in his rookie year. NFL Draft analyst Steve Muench predicts that Walker is the perfect match for De'Vondre Campbell, and should make an “immediate impact” on special teams. He also noted Walker's ability to stop the run game and versatility as a pass-rusher.

2. Devonte Wyatt

Six picks later, the Packers selected Walker's teammate, Devonte Wyatt. After an outstanding collegiate career with Georgia, the tackle was ranked second in his position and 23rd overall in the 2022 NFL Draft class.

Muench described Wyatt as an “explosive” player who “quickly locates the ball” and rushes the passer while also defending the run.

At 6'3″, 304 lbs, Wyatt will likely work his way to becoming a starter his rookie year. In fact, “Wyatt can step in right away and become an explosive running mate alongside Kenny Clark,” ESPN's Jordan Reid said. This duo would be remarkable if it comes to fruition, and the pair would definitely give offenses a run for their money.

1. Sammy Watkins

Last, but certainly not least, is Sammy Watkins. The Packers signed the free agent to a one-year deal in mid-April. He's expected to be a big part of the Packers' offense and the main replacement for Adams. That being said, he has huge shoes to fill and high expectations to meet.

Fortunately, it doesn't sound like this is going to be a problem for the 28-year-old receiver. Watkins has already built a strong relationship with Aaron Rodgers, which is crucial for their on-field chemistry.

Rodgers also spoke about Watkins at mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, saying that he is 100% on board with the decision to sign him. He has a lot of optimism for the receiver and his potential to grow as a member of the Packers. And, if there's anyone who knows anything about building a successful career in Green Bay, it's Aaron Rodgers.
