The Green Bay Packers held their first day of mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. Aaron Rodgers joined his team in the offseason activities, and things looked a little different for the quarterback this time around.

Rodgers is unmoved and continuing his tenure as Green Bay's QB1. However, he's heading into the 2022-2023 season without his favorite offensive weapon. Davante Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders early in the offseason. He left a huge hole in the Packers' offense, forcing the team to find an adequate replacement in Sammy Watkins.

Fortunately, it sounds like this team should get along just fine without Adams, who reunited with his former Fresno State quarterback, Derek Carr. That's according to Rodgers, who told reporters that he's “100% on board” with Watkins joining the squad.

The Athletic's Matt Schneidman tweeted the video of Rodgers' minicamp interview Tuesday afternoon.

“I facetimed him when he signed his contract. I knew that he was somebody we were interested in, and I was 100% on board with that. I think it's important you get guys who have a lot to play for and I think Sammy has the opportunity to continue and travel down a new path in his career…I love the disposition, I really enjoy the person.”

Rodgers added that while Watkins brings a lot to the team, the Packers have just as much to offer him.

“The most important thing for receivers and pass catchers and ball carriers is opportunities. And, there's definitely going to be opportunities for him to make plays for us in this offense,” he said.
