This season, Giannis Antetokounmpo is playing like the best player in the NBA, which was to be anticipated.

He has already won two MVP awards, an NBA championship, a Finals MVP award, and a Defensive Player of the Year award in his short career. He has done just about everything a player could want, despite the fact that he is only 27 years old.

There's a strong case to be made that Giannis is playing the best basketball of his career right now, and there's no denying it. However, due to voter fatigue, it will be difficult for him to win the MVP award. There's no doubt that if you simply look at his stats and the way he's playing, he should win this award because he's definitely the best player in the league.

It would be unjust for voters to not vote for him because of previous success, given how well Giannis Antetokounmpo has performed this season. Despite the fact that he has already won two MVP awards in his brief career, he should still receive the votes he deserves if he is playing like an MVP.

Let's look at three reasons why Giannis Antetokounmpo should be the league's MVP despite having won it twice before and might be facing voter fatigue.

Winning the MVP is never easy. There's a lot of bias that goes into voting at times and no one really knows what exactly voters are looking for. This year in particular is going to be very interesting considering teams that have MVP-caliber players haven't exactly been killing it in the standings. It's going to be tough for a few guys to win this MVP award, and how they perform down the stretch is undoubtedly going to be the deciding factor on if they win the award. As we have seen in the past, there have obviously been some snubs in terms of guys who should have won the award who didn't, so anything is really possible. This is also a season where you can probably make an argument that five or so guys do have a legit chance at winning the award.

Giannis Antetokounmpo MVP

3. The most dominant player

In the last several decades, there hasn't been an NBA player who has done what Giannis Antetokounmpo can do around the rim. Shaquille O'Neal is the only person that springs to mind when considering guys as dominant as him in the NBA. Shaquille O'Neal was clearly a force on the inside, and as ridiculous as it seems, you could argue that Giannis is on par with him, if not better.

Nobody can do what he does, it's evident when you watch him out there every night. If the voters are going to choose between him, Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid, and others, Giannis Antetokounmpo is the obvious choice if they're looking at dominance.

2 Despite several injuries, his team is performing well

Leave aside the fact that players like Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic are receiving a little bit more attention for the MVP award than Giannis Antetokounmpo right now since they have had many guys injured throughout the year. Giannis Antetokounmpo has been able to play with Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday for the majority of games, but he's also had several injuries to players on his roster.

Except for the opening game of the season, Giannis Antetokounmpo has had to play a different role this season because he has been without Brook Lopez at the center position. Giannis has proven that he is not just a force on the attacking end of the court, but he is also perhaps the best defensive player in the game, and he is highly versatile in his abilities. This year, he's had to play a different role, and when a player has to move positions, he normally struggles for a while. When Giannis Antetokounmpo was switched to the center position, he's played just as good, if not better than he ever has.

1. He ranks 2nd in points, 7th in rebounds, and 19th in assists

Giannis Antetokounmpo has a good chance of leading the NBA in scoring this season. He would undoubtedly lead the league in points right now if he played as many minutes as the average player. There's no questioning the style of basketball he's played this season, and it's hard to believe anyone could suggest anyone has played better than him. When you consider how many minutes he's played and the numbers he's still managed to put up, it's incredible.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has been a fantastic player for the last several seasons of his career, but there's a case to be made that this is the best basketball he's ever played.
