Russell Westbrook is now a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. Let that sink in.

If you told this to Lakers fans years ago, they would think that you’re crazy. Westbrook has spent all these years killing the Lakers with whatever team he was playing for. He’s almost at the end of his prime and it seems fitting that Brodie is back in LA—where his basketball career took off in the first place.

It seems like Westbrook’s return to LA has come full circle and it’s moments like this that's worth investing in. For card collectors, Wesbrook’s catalog is definitely a must-get since he’s already established himself as one of, if not the most athletic players, to ever grace the hardwood. It also helps that there’s a strong chance he can win his first-ever NBA championship alongside his new teammates LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

If you don’t know where to start, here are three Russell Westbrook cards that are definitely worth your investment:

UCLA card

Before Brodie was selected fourth overall in the 2008 NBA Draft, he spent two years with the UCLA Bruins. He had a decorative collegiate career despite only averaging 8.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. He won the PAC-10 Defensive Player of the Year award in 2008 and was part of the All-PAC-10 Third Team. For a two-year stint in college, these are pretty remarkable awards.

We don’t know when we’ll see another member of the UCLA Bruins like Westbrook, that's why his college cards could be worth as much as $690.00. The particular item shown above is the last one in stock, so for beginners and even Westbrook fans that want to start investing in his cards, this is a good start.

2020-21 Tip-Off Card

The Washington Wizards’ campaign last year was just plain mediocre but if there was one highlight for Russ, it was becoming the leader of the all-time triple-double list. Westbrook’s teams have won 75.1 percent of their games (136-45) when he puts up a triple-double. The reason why this is simply incredible is that no player (even Jason Kidd, Magic Johnson, and LeBron James) has done it this well.

Arguably, this is Westbrook’s biggest achievement. That’s why this particular card could be a big deal in the future (it’s now worth $12.95 on eBay) because we don’t know if there’s going to be a player who can surpass Westbrook’s incredible feat. Getting a triple-double is not easy because if it was, everyone in the NBA would be doing it. But for Westbrook, he has done it successfully throughout his career.

2012-13 Prestige Stars of the NBA Card

Aside from his triple-doubles, Westbrook’s young career with the Oklahoma City Thunder was a box office hit. He and Kevin Durant found a way to carry the team to the NBA Finals in 2012 but failed to claim victory versus LeBron and the Heat.

Still, it was worth garnering eyeballs because OKC is where Westbrook established himself in the league. As of writing, he’s still the best player to ever play in a Thunder jersey.

This specific Westbrook card with the Thunder is only priced at $2.10 on eBay. It’s relatively cheap compared to his other cards so this might be worth it because of the price alone. We don’t know when OKC is going to make it to the NBA Finals again or if there’s going to be any player who can surpass what Russell Westbrook has done for the franchise.
