It's a day that is always rife with controversy; the Madden ratings reveal! There is a lot to say about Madden 21, chiefly the quarterback ratings.

Today EA Sports has revealed the ratings for the latest edition, Madden 21, and the controversy isn't any less rampant this year than it has been in the past. If anything there may be even more. I'm not going to get into all of the opinions going around social media on the ratings, but I will be giving you my thoughts on three things EA got wrong in the top ten quarterback ratings this season. Let's get to it.

No. 1: Aaron Rodgers 89th Overall

Yes Aaron Rodgers hasn't been as good in recent years as he was earlier in his career.  Yes Tom Brady, even at his advanced age, has still been good. But c'mon, Rodgers isn't worse than Brady right now. We saw it throughout last season the limits to Brady's skill set, especially as he heads towards the twilight of his career. He's never been a very mobile quarterback, ranking the lowest in mobility out of all quarterbacks, but his arm wasn't what it used to be last year either. Aaron Rodgers can still sling the ball, and he should have at least been on par with Brady at 90 in Madden 21.

No. 2: Carson Wentz in the Top 10

On the flip side, while Wentz has been a good quarterback, he hasn't wowed me to the level that I'd put him as a top-ten quarterback in Madden 21. The big issue with Wentz is him being prone to injury, which, in my opinion, should lower his rating by a point or two and knock him out of the top ten.

No. 3: His Name Is Jimmy Garoppolo!

This is so fitting right now, not only because Hamilton is growing in popularity due to being put on Disney+, but also because Jimmy Garoppolo is being shafted by Madden 21 with his rating. How a Super Bowl caliber quarterback is not in the top 10 is beyond me. While Wentz is overrated, Garoppolo is definitely underrated by not being in the top 10.

A lot of people will say “His defense got him to the Super Bowl,” and yes defense is necessary to do well in the NFL, you don't get to the big game without a competent quarterback. Garoppolo may not be as flashy as some of the quarterbacks higher on the list, but he definitely deserves to be in the top 10 of Madden 21.
