Atlanta Falcons star wide receiver Julio Jones hasn't been enjoying a particularly great 2020 NFL season. He often found himself sitting out games and missing practices due to a nagging hamstring injury. Jones only tallied 771 receiving yards on 51 receptions and three scoring touchdowns, so far this season, as he's only played in nine games. Those are a far cry from his usual numbers that landed him six-straight Pro Bowl appearances from 2014 to 2019.

Despite the rocky campaign in 2020, Julio Jones remains to be one of the best receivers in the league even at this stage of his career. However, the 2020 season could be Jones' last in Atlanta, which may have plans to move him in the offseason.

Jones has been involved in trade rumors with the team already heading in a different direction to undergo a rebuild for the future. Fans can expect that the 31-year-old star will most likely be shipped to another team ahead of next season.

Here are the four best trade destinations for Julio Jones:

4. Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts have relied on their stifling defense to help ease the load off of the shoulders of quarterback Philip Rivers. Speaking of which, the Colts' passing attack often looked it needs help in moving the chains.

Veteran receiver T.Y. Hilton isn't looking like he can return to his previous Pro Bowl form while 2020 second-round draftee Michael Pittman Jr. hasn't been able to gain momentum in his first year in the league. Second-year wideout Parris Campbell was also ruled out of the season due to an MCL injury and tight end Jack Doyle didn't look impressive as well even though he managed to appear in 13 games this season.

With an inconsistent wide receiving corps, Rivers often banked on the production of running back Jonathan Taylor and ball-carrier Nyheim Hines to shoulder the bulk of the scoring load on offense which occasionally worked but would be more efficient if complemented by a better passing game.

The quality of their receiving options coupled with an aging quarterback in Philip Rivers hasn't worked too well for the Colts this season. Although they have seen improvements from last season, their current lineup could still benefit from upgrades.

Having a receiver like Julio Jones can potentially get the Colts' offense over the hump especially if they can slot a younger and more dynamic quarterback under center next season. The seven-time Pro Bowler can provide another dimension to the Colts' attack, one that they have been missing all season long.

3. New England Patriots

After longtime quarterback Tom Brady's departure over the offseason, the New England Patriots thought that they were going to get a new lease on life with the arrival of Cam Newton. However, the 2015 NFL MVP failed to look good on the field due to his lack of weapons, making up for a subpar offensive attack for the Patriots.

Wide receivers Jakobi Meyers and N'Keal Harry have often served as the top targets for Newton this season but they aren't close to living up to their potentials just yet. Meanwhile, veteran wideout Julian Edelman is constantly battling a knee injury that only allowed him to see action in six games this season.

If Bill Belichick wants to have a better campaign next season, he might have to look for a new quarterback and add a reliable receiving threat like Julio Jones. Perhaps, the multi-titled tactician can squeeze the remaining juice out of Jones as he aims to have a bounce-back campaign next year after having an injury-riddled 2020 season.

2. Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have a similar case with the Patriots who are also thin on the receiving corps. This season, former starting quarterback Carson Wentz, who has played the majority of the games for the Eagles, partly struggled due to the lack of reliable options downfield.

Wide receivers Alshon Jeffery and Jalen Reagor have not been healthy for the most part this season. Veteran pass-catcher DeSean Jackson only recently returned from a long lay-off due to an ankle injury and both tight ends in Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert also missed a ton of games as well.

Wentz regularly targeted unheralded wide receiver Travis Fulgham but he has failed to show his capability of emerging as the top option for the team amid all the injuries of his teammates. Wentz also often sought help from running backs Miles Sanders and Boston Scott, but the two could only do so much without excellent field-stretchers.

Having Julio Jones on their corner for next season will be an interesting sight to see especially with a new quarterback at the helm in Jalen Hurts who has already displayed his dual-threat playmaking skills in his rookie campaign. The arrival of Jones can potentially give the Eagles a fighting chance next season especially in the lowly NFC East division.

1. Green Bay Packers

Sitting atop the list is the Green Bay Packers, who have been speculated in almost every rumor that is linked to a receiving player due to their lack of weapons. Nonetheless, the Packers are still adamant to trade for more receiving threats and remain confident in the players that they currently have at the helm to this day.

The receiving trio of Davante Adams, Equanimeous St. Brown, and Allen Lazard along with tight end Robert Tonyan have all provided a lift for Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers this season. However, the team will be needing an additional threat from the wings like Jones if they want to remain competitive while Aaron Rodgers is still playing at an elite level.

Amid their holes in the receiving corps, Adams has proven that he is one of the league's best route-runners as he tallied 1,328 yards on 109 receptions and 17 touchdowns scored through 13 games this season. If the Packers can manufacture a trade that would have them lining up Adams and Julio Jones across each other, then opposing defensive coordinators are surely going to have plenty of sleepless nights in the future.
