San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo led his team to a Week 1 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he didn't always look comfortable and made some mistakes that were easily avoidable.

On Wednesday Garoppolo talked about game one and tried to downplay his struggles because he knows he made some poor decisions, but thinks they are fixable mistakes.

Per Eric Branch in the San Francisco Chronicle:

“There are things to correct,” Garoppolo said. “I missed a couple of throws I wish I could have had back. Little things. They’re fixable, too. You just have to learn from them week to week and keep progressing.”

One of the big mistakes from Garoppolo was a pass that he threw right to Bucs cornerback Vernon Hargreaves, who returned it 15 yards for a pick-six touchdown.

Garoppolo also had a very conservative approach not throwing many balls deep, and he claims that was all part of the gameplan.

“We wanted to pick our spots — and I think we did that to a point — but we were taking what they gave us,” Garoppolo said. “I think that is what a good offense does.”

Garoppolo also missed a couple of easy throws that could have really opened up the game more if he would have hit them.

This was Garopplo's first regular-season game back from his torn ACL, so it's not a surprise that there were some missed throws, and it's good to hear some confidence from Garoppolo that he can turn it around and be better in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
