On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs will square off with the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV. It should be a great battle between two of the top teams in the NFL.

Both teams have their strengths and weaknesses as well. And it appears the Chiefs have a game plan towards that. They want the 49ers to have to rely on something (or someone rather) that is not their biggest strength.

Kansas City wants to focus on stopping the elite running game of San Francisco. That puts the game in the hands of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, via Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Garoppolo has had a strong season. No one is taking that away from him. However, this is an obvious game plan.

Garoppolo has been good but still shown quite a few flaws in 2019. Meanwhile, the 49ers have a number of great running backs. The group is led by Raheem Mostert, who just had 200-plus yards and four touchdown game against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game.

It's kind of like in basketball, going up against a great player like Giannis Antetokounmpo. Teams will say they won't let him in the paint and make him beat them with the three-ball.

This is the football version of that. The Chiefs will try to stop the 49ers running game. They will let Garoppolo try to beat them. If he can, they will live with that. But they won't go into the game expecting the running game to beat them.

Don't be surprised to see Kansas City line up defensively, clearly telling Garoppolo to throw on them. Let's see if he's up to the challenge.
