Deebo Samuel has had enough of the criticisms hurled at Brock Purdy. He finally lashed out to Dallas Cowboys' Micah Parsons and Cam Newton. However, the San Francisco 49ers wide receiver did not anticipate what would happen next. A bunch of individuals tracked down his number and pretended to be the NFL's 2015 MVP, via Dov Kleiman.

The prankster was seen shaking and had the internet either laughing or frustrated at the joke. Deebo Samuel was playing along at first but eventually stopped responding.

Apparently, these people had asked certain favors from a pledge brother. They were given the number and started texting the 49ers receiver. The information was from an older person who had some interactions with Samuel when he was still playing in South Carolina. All of this time he thought it was actually Cam Newton who directly corresponded with him through text.

Despite all of this, he still put up 47 receiving yards with an average gain of 11.8 per reception. Samuel accomplished all of this on four catches despite the 49ers getting trashed at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens. His output left a lot to be desired but he is no stranger to bouncing back from tough situations.

Now that all of this, including his statement aganinst Cowboys' Micah Parsons, seems to be resolved. The 49ers can now focus on getting their 12th win of the season. They will be facing a Washington Commanders squad that has not won a game since November. Hopefully, this prank brought closure to Samuel's mind such that he could go off and torch the opposing defensive unit in their game.
