The Antonio Brown saga continues as Jerry Rice weighs in on the possibility of the beleaguered Steeler playing for the 49ers.

Brown posted a photo of a FaceTime conversation between himself and the legendary football player on his Instagram story page.

Rice was interviewed by 95.7 The Game about what was discussed.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He wants to come here really bad. He's talking about running the hill with me — doing all that and just working out and just picking my brain. I don't know if it's going to happen because it's going to be up to [coach] Kyle Shanahan and also [general manager] John Lynch, but I'm all for it if they want him to come on board.”

Rice was a 49er from 1985 until 2000, and went on to say that he would be “thrilled” to provide guidance to Antonio Brown if the 49ers did decide to sign him.

Steelers president Art Rooney II, however, said that his team would not release Brown unless “all other options are off the table” regarding his future with the team. He also said that it would be “hard to envision” Antonio Brown being part of the team when the Steelers report to training camp in the summer, despite his impressive record with the team.

As it stands right now, Antonio Brown enters the third year of a five-year, $72.7 million extension signed before the 2017 season, and the Steelers would absorb $21.12 million in 2019 dead money on the salary cap by trading Brown.
