Jimmy Garoppolo couldn't contain his emotions after he suffered a calf injury during the San Francisco 49ers' Week 4 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
Garoppolo, who had to sit out the remainder of the contest after sustaining the injury in the first half, opened up about the issue and became a bit emotional as he reflected on his past injuries as well. The 49ers QB emphasized he is staying positive despite the latest setback, adding that he will have an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the problem.

It remains to be seen how long Jimmy Garoppolo will be out, but the 49ers star is hopeful it will only be a “couple of weeks,” per Marcus Thompson of The Athletic.

Apparently, Jimmy G sustained the injury in the first drive and it got worse as he continued to play with it. The 49ers eventually opted to let Trey Lance take over as the veteran signal-caller sat on the sidelines.
“He got hurt sometime in the first half. He said he got stepped on,” Shanahan explained, per NFL.com. “He played for a while with it. We didn't think it was that bad at the time. … About a minute before halftime he was trying to get it going, but he just couldn't push off it.”
Hopefully Garoppolo will not have to sit out for long from the injury, especially with the 49ers dropping to 2-2 and to the bottom of the NFC West. In the meantime, though, he has to trust that Lance can keep San Francisco afloat.
