Earlier this week, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo had a miserable practice session, throwing five straight interceptions at one point.

Obviously, that has to be frustrating for any quarterback on any level, but Garoppolo isn't letting it get to him.

“That day I was pretty ticked off. The defense got the best of me,” Garoppolo said, according to Jacob Hutchinson of KNBR. “It was just five bad decisions. The defense got me. … You can’t dwell on those things.”

Garoppolo's next practice was a bit better, but he still threw one pick.

The 27-year-old is entering a pivotal 2019 campaign, as he is looking to complete his first season as a starter in his career.

The 49ers originally acquired Garoppolo in a trade with the New England Patriots back in October 2017, and he proceeded to make five starts for the club that year, throwing for 1,560 yards, seven touchdowns, and five interceptions while completing 67.4 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 96.2.

He then made just three starts before tearing his ACL this past season, finishing with 718 yards, five touchdowns, and three picks while completing 59.6 percent of his throws and registering a passer rating of 90.

Garoppolo, who played his collegiate football at Eastern Illinois, was originally selected by the Patriots in the second round (62nd pick overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

However, due to Tom Brady's presence, Garoppolo never got much of a shot in New England.

But now, Garoppolo has the opportunity to become a franchise quarterback for the Niners so long as he stays healthy.
