With San Francisco 49ers star quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo dealing with a couple of injuries, there has been some doubt as to his availability ahead of Saturday's highly-anticipated playoffs matchup against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan has now pretty much guaranteed Garoppolo's availability for that do-or-die contest and it should get San Francisco fans all hyped up.
Shanahan acknowledged the fact that Garoppolo is not one hundred percent at the moment, but the 42-year-old shot-caller also confirmed that his star QB should be good to go for Saturday:
“Threw the ball great. He looked as good as he did the week before,” Shanahan said, via 49ers team insider Cam Inman. ” …. Jimmy's been playing through things but why he's full go. He's good enough to play and we don't plan it any differently.”
Was there really any doubt as to Jimmy G sitting out Saturday's contest? He has been playing through thumb and shoulder injuries but at the end of the day, we all know that the 49ers star was going to muster up the strength for this crucial matchup. Only a major injury would prevent Garoppolo from suiting up in what is going to be the Niners' most important game of the season to date.
