San Francisco 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman has a huge chip on his shoulder after his name not being mentioned among the best linebackers in the NFL. According to the San Francisco Chronicles, Bowman had this to say about his own abilities with the Niners:

“To not be mentioned as one of the best since I entered the league makes me feel a certain way sometimes,” Bowman told the newspaper. “For the respect not to be presented and given, it just doesn't make sense to me.”

Bowman has every right to be upset. When he is healthy, he is without question one of the most productive linebackers in the game. It wasn't too long ago that Bowman led the league in tackles, with 116 in 2015.

But, everyone in the NFL has a short memory. It's league dominated by the phrase “what have you done for me lately?” If you leave the game for any significant amount of time, teams, players, and fans will forget about you and move on to the next big thing.

Bowman is a beloved player in San Francisco, but with the new addition of rookies LB Reuben Foster and DE/LB Soloman Thoma,s it is imperative that Bowman has a big year to return to the limelight.
