San Francisco 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster has gone through a high-profile offseason that has seen go through some legal issues that have potentially put his NFL career in jeopardy.

The latest issue saw him plead no contest to a misdemeanor weapons possession charge on Wednesday morning that will likely lead to him receiving some sort of suspension for his actions. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the NFL is currently weighing a multi-game ban for the 24-year-old this upcoming season.

Although there isn't any clarity in terms of how the NFL will handle this situation, it is clear that a suspension will be handed down in some sort of fashion this offseason. Foster is set to enter his second year in the league and has already had many issues off the field that further raised questions about whether he can straighten his life away from the game.

He had those red flags entering the league that led to him slipping down draft boards around the league because of that. Foster has shown to be a tremendous talent, but these constant issues could quickly push him out of the NFL if they continue to pile up.

His career had nearly come to an abrupt end after the entire domestic violence incident that turned out to be that his girlfriend had fabricated that he struck her.

The 49ers are likely hoping that these issues can cease to exist in order for him to be a long-term piece of the puzzle defensively If not, it could quickly see him out of the league sooner than he would like to be to miss out on the opportunity to put together an extensive career. In the meantime, he will likely face a suspension that will keep him out of action for a few games in the 2018 season.
