The San Francisco 49ers dropped their second consecutive Super Bowl to the same opponent as the previous one, the Kansas City Chiefs, and now one of Coach Kyle Shanhan's top players is setting a different tone heading into the 2024-2025 season at offseason Organized Team Activities (OTAs).

The unprecedented step occurred during a time when a key 49ers defender (not Bosa in this case) dropped a crucial injury update. The 49ers' game-by-game predictions were also released ahead of the season.

Bosa's surprising decision went against his usual history with the Niners' but it's a good omen for a team with designs on winning its sixth Super Bowl title in 2025.

Bosa Makes Surprise Choice for OTAs

Bosa will participate in the 49ers' 2024 OTAs according to a report from Matt Maiocco on Twitter. Bosa, a talented and uber successful veteran, is usually content with resting. This year, he's doing his best to lead by example, even in a series of activities not always deemed as essential by the NFL's top performers like Bosa.

The Ohio State Buckeyes alumnus remains a contender for defensive player of the year, a stout run defender and one of the top pass rushers in the National Football League.

Last season, the 6-foot-4, 266 pound Bosa had 34 solo tackles, 10.5 sacks and two forced fumbles for the 49ers along with 13.5 ‘stuffs.'

Bosa is just one of a long list of star players on the 49ers roster. Christian McCaffrey is one of the most talented and versatile running backs in recent NFL history while Brock Purdy is one of the most talented and celebrated quarterbacks in the league. Deebo Samuel, the 49ers' versatile wide receiver, is a threat both through the air via the pass and catch and on the ground in regards to reverses, jet sweeps and other gadget plays.

Aside from Nick Bosa, Christian McCaffrey and others, Kyle Shanahan's team is eagerly awaiting updates on the Brandon Aiyuk contract situation. Aiyuk reportedly is ‘not close' with the 49ers on contract negotiations, a situation that will be one to watch going forward.
