A Super Bowl victory would have capped an amazing rookie year for San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa, but that wasn't the case.
Coming up short in the championship game, Bosa was seen dejected and in tears after the Kansas City Cheifs defeated his team on their way to lift the Lombardi Trophy.
In a video call on Wednesday morning, the reigning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year spoke about how he is ready to move on from the disappointing loss. Per Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area:
“Just like any loss, it stings for a while then you eventually get over it and realize that life goes on and you’ll get another crack at it,” the 49ers rising star said.
The 22-year-old added that going back to work and trying to be better has helped him get through the painful loss. Staying currently in Fort Lauderdale, the former Ohio State Buckeye also mentioned that he and his brother Joey are doing everything they can to find ways to train amidst the current crisis the world is facing due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“It’s pretty simple to get your mind off something when you can go out and train your butt off and prepare yourself,” Nick Bosa said. “Obviously, it’s been a little tough with what’s going on in the world. But we have a pretty good set up down here where we’re still able to get our work in.”
The former no.2 overall pick in 2019, Bosa tallied an impressive 47 total tackles and nine sacks, as he helped the 49ers reach the Super Bowl. With his eyes geared towards next season, Bosa and the Niners are looking to get another shot at a Super Bowl.
