San Francisco 49ers receiver River Cracraft found himself on the wrong end of the headlines after the defending NFC champions dropped their TNF contest against the Green Bay Packers.

Cracraft, who has one of the most unique names in the NFL, was pushed to the line-up after the already-undermanned San Francisco had to sit out a few more of their usual starters due to a series of injuries. Early in the game, the California-native had a chance to score his first ever career touchdown but had the call overturned after it was ruled that he had no control of the football upon landing on the end zone.

The four-year pro ended the match with just a couple of receptions and just 13 yards. To make things ever worse for the Washington State alum, Twitter had a field day on his account but not for what he was able to do on the grid iron. Everyone was on Cracraft's behind as his surname was seemingly the most interesting thing to come out of the 49ers 34-17 loss against the Packers.

Thursday's blunder was just a small chapter in Cracraft's seesaw career in the NFL so far. Cracraft has spent his entire career as part of different practice squads as a former member of the Denver Broncos and the Philadelphia Eagles. He was signed by the 49ers ahead of the 2020 season but was waived to the team's practice unit as the season began.

He was elevated back to the lineup earlier this month prior to the 49ers' Week 8 loss against the Seattle Seahawks but was moved back to the practice squad right after the game.

With a thin roster, the 49ers were forced to play Cracraft in their Week 9 game against Green Bay.
