There is plenty of hype surrounding the San Francisco 49ers going into the 2018 season. Fortunately, the high expectations have only seemed to fuel the team's chemistry. At least, that is how kicker Robbie Gould feels.

According to Eric Branch of The San Francisco Chronicle, Gould says this is the best locker room he has ever been a part of:

“This,” Gould said, “is probably the best locker room in my 14-year career that I’ve been a part of.”

That is a lot coming from a veteran like Gould. The 49ers made a number of high profile additions to the locker room this offseason, like cornerback Richard Sherman. Fortunately, it appears his charismatic personality has rubbed off well with his new teammates.

However, it is not like Gould is an NFL journeyman. He spent most of his career with the Chicago Bears before a brief stint with the New York Giants led him to San Francisco. He managed to lock down his spot with the best year of his career last season. He finished the 2017 campaign making 39 of his 41 attempts to help register a career-high 145 points.

He may have to settle for more PAT attempts with the emergence quarterback Jimmy Garappolo. The reason for all the hype in San Francisco has been the development of Garppolo into one of the most promising quarterbacks in the league.

It is encouraging to see that the 49ers seem to be on the same page in the locker room. However, they will need to make sure it translates onto the field this season if they are to capitalize on their performance during the final stretch last year.
