Over the past few years, Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg a.k.a. PewDiePie has been in the spotlight when it came to YouTube controversies. But that’s just not fair, isn’t it? Today, I give you the 5 reasons as to why PewDiePie is actually the G.O.A.T. of YouTube.

5 Reasons why PewDiePie is the best Gamer/YouTuber ever

1.) He’s been at this for a very long time

After forgetting his password on his original channel (channel by the name of PewDie), Felix opened his second YouTube account under the name “PewDiePie” in 2010 and started posting Let’s Play videos of horror and action video games. His channel gained popularity in the following years and was one of the fastest-growing channels in 2012 and 2013. On 15 August 2013, PewDiePie became the most-subscribed YouTube channel. As the years went by, his style of content diversified to include vlogs, comedy shorts, formatted shows, and music videos. From 2015 to 2018, his content also shifted away from Let’s Play content and became increasingly subject to media controversies.

In 2019, following a public competition with the Indian record label T-Series, Pewds was overtaken as the most-subscribed YouTube channel. It was truly a dark day for the 19-year-olds. Now, his channel currently holds the title of the fourth-most subscribed, albeit remaining the most-subscribed operated by an individual. Kjellberg had the most-viewed channel on YouTube from 29 December 2014 to 14 February 2017, and the channel currently ranks as the 24th-most-viewed, and the sixth among those operated by an individual. As of August 2021, his channel has over 110 million subscribers and has received 27.7 billion total views.

2.) He loves his 9-year-olds

Okay. Relax. He’s not a pedophile.

The 9-Year-Old Army is a tongue-in-cheek label for fans of YouTuber PewDiePie, formally known as the “Bro Army”. The name was coined by Twitch streamer Alinity during a feud with PewDiePie, in which she accused his fans of being “9-year-olds.”

On September 8th, Urban Dictionary user TankBeatsEverything submitted an entry for “9-year-old army,” defining it as a “special kind of specimen who specifically devote their lives to following a certain god known as Pewdiepie”

In early 2020, in order to avoid the COPPAlice, the “9-Year-Old Army” was rebranded again to the “19-Year-Old Army.” This was to ‘comply’ with their new laws, stating that content made for pre-teens and under is no longer monetizable. Day by Dave also changed the LWIAY intro to further confuse the authorities.

Basically, the “Bro Army” has been the best fans anyone could ever ask for. They stood by Pewds’ side since the beginning and have been supporting him ever since.

3.) He has Big Brain

It’s no secret that PewDiePie is a very smart individual. Although he shows how wacky and silly he can be in most of his YouTube videos, Felix is actually an intellectual. He’s a very cultured person. He likes to read, has great taste in films and anime, and absolutely loves to travel with his gorgeous wife, Marzia Kjellberg.

4.) All his content is 100% original

Yup. All of his content. All original. Not a single one was copied from anyone else. Okay, moving on…

5.) He’s a true musician

One of the best things to come from his YouTube channel is his music videos. “B**** Lasagna” was such an absolute classic that even people played it at their weddings. The way he fearlessly raps about the way he feels is a testament to undeniable talent. He even followed it up with “Congratulations” once T-Series attained the number one spot.

He even made a diss track towards Cocomelon. What an absolute mad lad. Big PP right there.

Believe me, I could go on and on about how awesome PewDiePie is. But to be frank, I just wanted to give this guy a shoutout for being such an awesome human being. Brofist Felix!
