It took almost a decade, but finally there appears to be justice on the horizon for boxing legend Hector “Macho” Camacho and his family. Reportedly charges have finally been made against five men, with three of them appearing in court Wednesday in Puerto Rico, according to the Associated Press.

In November of 2012, Camacho and a friend of his sat in a truck outside of a bar when seven men approached them. It ended with Camacho and his friend being murdered.

Two of the seven alleged assailants are already dead. Three others were flown into Puerto Rico from Florida as they were serving time in prison for unrelated charges. The fourth living suspect was picked up recently and the final suspect was serving time in a Puerto Rico jail, also for an unrelated crime.

After news the charges were files, Camacho's mother walked into the Department of Justice and raised her fist, saying “They gave me justice… I can sleep in peace. I can eat and drink a little cup of coffee in the morning.”

Hector Camacho is regarded as one of the greatest pound for pound fighters in history. He retired with a professional record of 79-6-3. Yeah, you read that right. He won 79 fights. Camacho was known for having lead hands, packing a powerful punch. He also could take a beating and stand.

On March 1, 1997, Camacho became the only man to ever knock out Sugar Ray Leonard via TKO. That sent Leonard into retirement for good. Camacho won the WBC, WBO and IBF titles in different weight classes throughout his storied career.
