NBA commission Adam Silver is ‘proud' of members of NBA community who speak out on important issues such as mental health and social topics.

The league is known as one of the most outspoken in all of sports. Without its players being hidden behind helmets or prevented from using their voices due to some unwritten rules, NBA players have a platform larger than most other athletes.

Not only does Adam Silver know this, he appreciates it. In a sit down interview with The Players' Tribune, the commissioner of the league literally gave voice to that idea.

Silver is widely considered the most popular of any of the professional sports leagues' commissioners. While he has had the chance to put in some layups following huge gaffes by the National Football League, Silver has made sure to have a good relationship with his players to avoid any pitfalls down the road.

It is also worth mentioning that, unlike other pro leagues in the states, NBA players have more power than any other athletes on the planet. Only in the NBA do the players weird more tangible power than owners or even the league's commissioner.

Still, good on Silver. None of that is meant to take anything away from him.
