The NBA's season schedule is definitely a tough grind for its players, coaches and staff as the amount of games played on a 158-day window goes to show how tightly compressed it really is.

This season, the league adjusted it and added seven more days to somehow lessen the challenging stretches including having four games in five nights and the number of back-to-back sets teams will have. Commissioner Adam Silver recently discussed the importance of those seven days and what it means to the players and teams when it comes to being more competitive.

Not only will it benefit the teams competing, but it will also give the fans more entertaining games to watch in the future as it will help minimize blowouts due to fatigue setting in on players due to the number of games they already played in a short span.

If the results of the new schedule bring a lot of positive results, it won't be entirely impossible for the league to still look into adding more days in the future in order to further improve the quality of play and also preserve the health of their athletes.
