Advance Wars 1+2 has been indefinitely delayed from its release, given the context of the current global situation.

Nintendo announced the postponement of Advance Wars 1+2's release on Twitter, as the Russian invasion of Ukraine wages on. “In light of recent world events,” Nintendo of America's announcement reads, “we have made the decision to delay Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, which was originally scheduled to release on Nintendo Switch on April 8th.” Nintendo didn't specifically pinpoint the Ukrainian conflict, but it's fairly obvious with the context as well as the game's theme. Being a family-friendly brand, of course, Nintendo wouldn't want to seem tone-deaf in releasing a game titled “Advance Wars” while the conflict continues.

This is actually the second time the Advance Wars remakes are getting delayed, as the game was originally scheduled for release last December 2021, before being pushed back to April this year. With this new delay, there has been no conclusive date on when we could expect to get this Nintendo classic anymore. We could only hope that Nintendo would start feeling comfortable releasing the game as soon as the conflict ends – or at least until people wouldn't say “too soon” when the game actually releases after the conclusion of the conflict.
