According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, Warner Bros. Discovery has reportedly issued an edict to remove MJF from all of AEW's promotional and commercial spots going forward. This could be the reason why he was removed from the AEW Rampage opening package on Friday.

This news comes off the back of MJF's promo on AEW Dynamite, where he blamed AEW owner Tony Khan for not giving him the money or opportunities he believed he had earned. This promo sparked an incredible amount of debate on social media on how much was real and how much was storyline. However, the part that might have Warner Bros. Discovery upset is when MJF cursed multiple times during the promo, causing AEW to bleep out the words for television.

Warner Bros. Discovery reportedly held a party with AEW on Wednesday after Dynamite. They were likely the executives that were backstage on Wednesday that MJF referenced in his promo, when he stated, “a lot of important executives here tonight to watch your product, would be a real shame if something bad happened.”

MJF's merchandise has been removed from AEWShop.com and he was removed from the AEW roster page. Despite the topic being heavily talked about all over social media, AEW has remained quiet on the topic. The promo was not referenced after they cut to black and went to commercial. It is unclear the amount of frustration that Warner Bros. Discovery has toward MJF, and how much of this is just to continue the conversation around the promo.
