Golden State Warriors forward Andre Iguodala has been ruled out of Tuesday's Game 2 against the San Antonio Spurs due to soreness in his left knee, the team announced prior to the game.

Monday's MRI revealed no structural damage in his knee, but the team has spent the majority of the season managing the veteran's minutes to keep him as fresh as possible for a deep playoff run.

Iguodala played only 10 minutes during Sunday's Game 1 and did not return through the latter stages of the game due to him aggravating the soreness. The Warriors' sixth man had not taken part in the up-and-down running parts of practice due to the condition of his knee, which ultimately flared up after his 10-minute stint on the floor.

Veteran Matt Barnes saw 10 minutes of action while Iguodala sat and could see an extended role today at the small forward position.

As the premiere defender in Golden State's second unit, the team will have to depend on a collective effort to keep the Spurs at bay. If Iguodala returns for Game 3 at the AT&T Center, the 33-year-old would have had a full five days of rest to nurse his injury before his return.
