The Los Angeles Angels have now dropped 12 games in a row following Monday's defeat at the hands of the Red Sox. The Halos were expected to compete this season and started out the 2022 campaign strong. But they are now under .500 and manager Joe Maddon's job security is wearing thin. Maddon's salty response to a fairly basic question after Monday's loss will raise eyebrows as well.

“Do you feel the team's still competing and fighting the way you want right now?” Angels reporter Sam Blum asked Maddon.

“What do you think?” Maddon responded.

The reporter and manager then went back-and-forth in a rather immature exchange. Blum shared the complete interaction on social media.

Maddon finally gave an answer to the question following his salty responses.

“Because I obviously think we're playing hard. We're not winning games right now. But I'm not gonna denigrate the effort by the guys. I'm asking if you're seeing it because I'm not.”

Frustration has obviously begun to creep in for the Angels. But the last thing the team needs is their leader going head-to-head with a reporter. This exchange was not a good look for Joe Maddon, who is on the hot seat in Anaheim.

Sam Blum did go on to explain that this was an out-of-character response from Maddon.

I will say — Joe is always cordial and friendly and answers tough questions well, at least in my experience. We talked after the press conference and everything is good. This exchange, though, does speak to the general state of things with this team right now.

He had previously handled difficult questions well.

The Angels are reeling right now. Joe Maddon will attempt to steer his club in the right direction and snap their brutal losing streak.
