Anthony Davis has been one of the best players in the NBA since entering the league back in 2012. However, prior to his arrival in Hollywood to play for the Los Angeles Lakers, he's only been past the first round of the playoffs once in his career. That came during the 2017-18 season when Davis' New Orleans Pelicans swept the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the 2018 playoffs.

AD's playoff fortunes changed in the 2019-20 season when Davis teamed up with LeBron James to help the Purple and Gold win an NBA crown.

Anthony Davis has career NBA averages of 23.9 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists. For this piece, we'll be listing the best teammates the Chicago native has had during his NBA career with the Pelicans and Lakers.

PG: Jrue Holiday

Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday were teammates for six years in New Orleans. They are still very close friends to this day despite Davis' trade request from the Pelicans.

Holiday averaged 17.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.9 assists during the six seasons he played with Davis. The two were unstoppable together in the 2018 playoffs.

AD averaged 30.1 points and 13.4 rebounds, while Holiday put up 23.7 points, 5.7 boards, and 6.3 dimes in the 2018 postseason.

SG: Tyreke Evans

Anthony Davis and Tyreke Evans played together for three and a half years. The first time Davis made the playoffs in the NBA was during the 2014-15 season. Evans just so happened to be AD's running mate that year.

Tyreke averaged 14.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists in 202 games with the Pelicans.

SF: LeBron James

In their first season as teammates, LeBron James and Anthony Davis were the lethal dynamic duo everyone predicted them to be. So lethal, in fact, that the duo led the Lakers to a championship in the Miami bubble.

Before the 2019-20 season was suspended, LeBron was averaging 25.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 10.6 assists for the Lakers while shooting 49.8 percent from the field, 34.9 percent from beyond the arc, and 69.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Davis, meanwhile, putting up 26.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in his first year with Los Angeles. The eight-time NBA All-Star is just 27 and could soon become the face of the franchise once LeBron inevitably slows down. Davis just signed a new five-year deal with the Lakers worth $190 million in December 2020.

PF: Ryan Anderson

Ryan Anderson turned out to be the perfect stretch-four to pair alongside Anthony Davis due to his shooting skills.

Anderson and Davis were teammates for four years. The Pelicans made the postseason during the 2014-15 campaign.

In his four years with the Pelicans, Anderson averaged 16.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists while shooting 37.1 percent from beyond the arc.

C: DeMarcus Cousins

Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins were tearing up the NBA together during the 2017-18 season. Unfortunately, Cousins tore his Achilles in January of 2018 and was lost for the season. He never played for the Pelicans again.

Boogie averaged 25.2 points and 12.9 rebounds in 2017-18 before he got hurt. He probably would have signed a long-term contract with the Pelicans in the summer of 2018 if he didn't tear his Achilles.

Does Anthony Davis request a trade from the Pelicans if New Orleans keeps DeMarcus Cousins? We'll never know now.

Davis and Cousins were teammates once again during the 2019-20 campaign on the Lakers. However, DeMarcus tore his ACL during the summer of 2019 and didn't suit up once for Los Angeles.

Boogie has career NBA averages of 20.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 592 games with the Kings, Pelicans, Warriors, Rockets, and Clippers.
