Anthony Edwards has been slowly releasing new colorways of his signature Adidas AE 1 with each becoming a home-run in terms of sales. From his ‘Peach' colorway, his ‘All-Star' colorway, and his newest ‘Velocity Blue', the AE 1 has become the most talked-about shoe in the NBA. For his next release, Edwards will throw it back to his accolades long before stepping on an NBA floor.
Edwards was named a 2019 McDonald's All-American when coming out of Holy Spirit Prep School in Georgia. He joined a cast of teammates that included Precious Achiuwa, Cole Anthony, and Jaden McDaniels among other talented prospects. During the showcase, Edwards dropped 12 points, two rebounds, and three assists en route to becoming the NBA's first overall Draft Pick.
To coincide with his accomplishment, Anthony Edwards' next AE 1 will feature mismatch red and blue to commemorate the McDonald's All-American game. Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas first leaked the news via social media and it was later confirmed by Edwards that the shoes were on the way.

As with all previous Adidas AE 1 models, these will feature a mesh boot underlay with the iconic TPU wave molding along the uppers. It's the first time we've seen a white boot underneath the sneakers as opposed to the usual black. The right shoe will come in royal blue with the left shoe coming in varsity red. The Adidas logo on the heel will come in yellow and the shoes will feature a translucent mismatch herringbone Boost outsole.
Finer details include stars on the tongue pull tab, the McDonald's Golden Arches on the heel tab, and a unique graphic on the insole. This is also the first time we're seeing a mismatch colorway of the AE 1, so don't be surprised if we see more in the future. The color possibilities are endless with a sneaker like this and it's clear Adidas will only come up with the best for the current face of their brand.
Adidas AE 1 ‘McDonald's All-American' Release Details
The Adidas AE 1 ‘McDonald's All-American' will release March 29, 2024 exclusively at Foot Locker. They should come in full men's sizing and are expected to follow the same pricing as previous drops at $120. As with previous releases, these are expected to be limited in nature, so make sure to set your alarms and be ready for these to sell-out quick.
