The Cleveland Browns have finally found their franchise quarterback in Baker Mayfield. And after a promising rookie season, he's got his sights set on leading the Browns to a playoff berth this season.

They will be facing a tough opponent when they play the Los Angeles Rams at the FirstEnergy Stadium this Sunday. The odds will be against them when they face a Rams team that made it all the way to the Super Bowl.

However, there's no reason to doubt that a talented player like Baker Mayfield will be able to push the team to have a fighting chance against the Rams and maybe give the home crowd a much-needed victory. In fact, it would be weird to not see any Cleveland Browns fan rooting for their quarterback to pull through.

One of the reasons why Mayfield should be able to make things exciting against the Rams is his indomitable will to believe in himself. Everyone knows his story of how he walked on to fantastic college programs twice on his way to becoming the Heisman winner his senior year.

However, the doubt didn't stop there. Fans were still doubting the hype after he got picked first overall. There's also the legendary interview with Colin Cowherd where the pundit tried to shred his confidence apart.

However, he didn't let that affect his game. He finished the season with 27 passing touchdowns, the most for a rookie in NFL history. He's great at canceling out the noise and just focusing on himself and his game.

The other thing that will help him against the Rams is the quality players he has around him. Nick Chubb and Jarvis Landry are important playmakers for the Browns who were outstanding last season during his rookie campaign.

Moreover, the addition of Odell Beckham Jr. also added a lot of firepower to the Browns offense. Nobody can forget the 89-yard reception that he made against the Jets. Moreover, OBJ respects him to the point that he apologized for a passing gaffe late in the game. With Beckham on his side, there's no way Mayfield and the Browns wouldn't put up a fight.

Finally, Baker is just too good at throwing the football. He threw for an incredible 3,725 passing yards his rookie season. While he did throw a lot of picks, his arm is a dangerous weapon that can find teammates wherever they are.

No one's questioning the challenge the Browns face against the Rams. After all, they easily dominated a stacked New Orleans Saints team. However, it's hard for Browns fans not to root for their team when they have such a competitive yet likable guy throwing bombs from the pocket.
