A week after reports of Liverpool shutting down a Bayern Munich offer for Sadio Mane surfaced, the two clubs have reportedly agreed on a $42 million dollar transfer for the star, per Bleacher Report.

Bayern Munich remained confident about landing the 30-year old star despite the conflicting reports. There were growing discussions about the deal falling through up until it became official.

Bayern Munich is looking to build a contender this summer. Adding a player with the talent of Sadio Mane is a terrific starting point. They will certainly welcome him and his 120 goals. Mane is expected to agree on a three-year deal with the club in the coming days.

Mane spent six years with Liverpool. The club would have preferred to kept Mane since he had one year remaining on his contract. However, Mane requested a transfer earlier this year and Liverpool ultimately granted his wishes.

Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski is expected to move on from the club as well. Mane's presence helps soften the blow of his potential departure. Lewandowski was one of the most vital pieces to the puzzle over the past few years.

Liverpool still features a talented club even with the transfer. Although the Mane loss is not ideal, Mohamed Salah and Co. should be able to successfully hold down the fort.

It will be interesting to follow both of these clubs moving forward and see how the deal works out. Sadio Mane should continue to find success with Bayern Munich given his proven track record and overall consistency.
