Robert Lewandowski remains at a standstill regarding his future with Bayern Munich, as he currently has one more full season remaining on his contract.

From Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich’s viewpoint, he does not see that the Polish international is desiring a move away from the club.

“I don't know what the talks are like or if there are any at all,” Kimmich told Sky Sport following the 4-0 Bundesliga home win over FC Union Berlin. “Robert is fully involved. I don't feel like his head is anywhere else.”

It was recently reported that no date has been set between Lewandowski and Bayern Munich club officials for contract extension talks.

Bayern Munich chairman Oliver Kahn did note following the side’s win over Union Berlin that he views Lewandowski’s contract situation as a priority and that he does not see any “reason” for the veteran goal-scorer to leave the club.

Lewandowski has maintained his keen goal-scoring form throughout the season in all competitions, which includes 31 goals in 27 league appearances. As it stands, he is on track to go on and win the European Golden Boot award for the second consecutive year.

Lewandowski and Bayern Munich will return to action following the upcoming international break with an away league clash against SC Freiburg on matchday 28.
