The NFL is a business first and foremost. Teams, owners, executives, and coaches certainly understand that reality, and players have grown increasingly wary of it of late while making their financial security the utmost priority.

Adrian Amos is the latest player to go that route, apparently, after the former Chicago Bears safety agreed to a four-year, $37 million deal with the Green Bay Packers on Monday. As Bears faithful lamented Amos reaching a deal with a heated division rival, some fans indulged their worst tendencies by wishing injury and general misfortune on the 25 year old.

One Chicago follower, though, took a far mature approach to news of him wearing green and gold going forward.

While Amos no doubt would prefer if Bears fans kept it civil, he apparently understands why they might be upset.

Amos has been a started for Chicago since the team selected him in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL draft. The Penn State product had a banner campaign last season, notching career-highs across the board with 73 tackles, nine passes defensed, and two interceptions.

After news of his deal with the Packers made the rounds, Pro Football Focus called it “the best value of free agency so far.”

Amos wasn't the only impact defender Green Bay acquired on Monday. The team also brought in former Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Za'Darius Smith on a four-year, $66 million contract, as well as former Washington Redskins edge rusher Preston Smith on a four-year, $52 million deal.

The Packers ranked 25th in points allowed last season, surrendering 25.0 points per game.
