The Mitchell Trubisky era with the Chicago Bears featured a lot more down moments than it did positive ones.

Chicago traded up to No. 2 overall to take Trubisky in the 2017 NFL Draft. They gave up an array of future first-round picks to slide up and the selection never quite worked out.

Trubisky wasn't dreadful for the Bears but he never lived up to all the hype coming out of North Carolina. He's now a backup for Josh Allen with the Buffalo Bills and as the scheduling geniuses would have it, Buffalo plays in Chicago Saturday in the preseason.

Bears running back Tarik Cohen has a message for any fans thinking about throwing boos at the former Chicago quarterback.

The comments in response are as expected. Many Bears fans are still baffled (now) that the team passed on Patrick Mahomes to take Trubisky. At the time, even though many questioned the selection of Trubisky, it had little to do with Mahomes being on the board.

As fate would have it, Mahomes has turned into a once-in-a-generation type quarterback while Trubisky is now on his second team in the league as a backup.

Trubisky is slated to get a ton of run against the Bears with starter Josh Allen not expected to play in the preseason. It could open the door, even though it's just an exhibition, for Trubisky to try and show out against his former squad.

It will be intriguing to see how Bears fans react and respond to Trubisky on the field in a Bills uniform.
