As everyone knows, the Chicago Bears' 2018 season ended in Cody Parkey missing a 43-yard field goal. That miss caused the Bears to begin a search for a new kicker and no one is more amazed than Mitchell Trubisky.

The Bears are holding a kicker competition to find someone worthy of becoming their new starting kicker. So far, they've brought in eight kickers and Matt Nagy made all eight kick the 43-yard field goal that Parkey missed (even though it was blocked).

Only two of the eight made the field goal, with Trubisky saying how the kicking competition is a “fascinating spectacle.” In an article on the Chicago Sun-Times, Trubisky spoke about the kicker competition that Nagy is holding.

Here's an excerpt from the article:

“The whole thing behind them has become a fascinating spectacle right now,” the quarterback told the Sun-Times on Saturday morning. “Even that’s what I’m interested in now. We’re gonna be out at practice and I’ll be keeping track of who’s making and who’s missing and who’s winning the competition.

The Bears quarterback went on to talk about how the guys that are brought in have to be able to handle the pressure. There are high-pressure situations, like Parkey's, that may determine the outcome of a game.

Although, Parkey did score nine of the Bears 15 points scored in their Wild Card game. In addition, there was a video that showed that Parkey's miss actually was blocked by Treyvon Hester of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Nonetheless, Parkey struggled during the 2018 season discounting his memorable miss. He went 23-30 during the regular season and missed three extra points.

The Bears still haven't found their kicker but the spectacle surrounding their search is remarkable. Just ask Mitchell Trubisky.
