Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert suffered a nasty broken ankle last season. As hard as it was to go through, it's actually a source of pride at this point. Eifert said they put his ankle back in place on the field, which was tough, but now he can look back at it and be proud (via ProFootballTalk):

“They put my ankle back in on the field, which was not fun,” he said, which seems like an understatement. Eifert said he eventually pushed through, and was able to eventually take pride in the comeback: “Hey, look how nasty this is!”

Eifert has been productive when on the field, but staying on the field is something that has proven tough since coming into the league. Eifert has only played in 43 of a possible 96 games, but he still thinks he can have a healthy and long career:

“I’ve just had some freak things happen and some unfortunate injuries, but who knows, you never know what’s going to happen, but I intend to stay healthy and finish out a long career,” he said.

Eifert appeared in four games last season, catching 15 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown. In his career, he has hauled in 142 catches for 1,716 yards and 21 touchdowns.

This a player, when healthy, who is a real threat in the passing game. The only problem for Eifert is that he has had such a tough time actually staying healthy.
