A.J. Green and the Cincinnati Bengals are fresh off of a big 37-34 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 8. It was a game that moved the team to a 5-3 record heading into their bye week. Unfortunately, the win may not have come without some kind of cost.
According to a report from Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Green was spotted in a walking boot after injuring his foot late in the game against the Buccaneers.
If there had been more football to play, it’s unclear whether Green would have been able to take part as he hurt his toe while making the catch. Green said he was OK after the game, but multiple reporters shared that he was in a protective boot at the team’s facility Tuesday.
Cincinnati has looked like a contender early on this season. The Bengals have some holes to fix, but the AFC is wide open at this point in the season and they could make some noise.

At 30 years old, Green is still in the prime of his career but has been banged up over the past few years. One can only hope that the walking boot is simply a precaution to help him heal up through the bye week.
Looking ahead, the Bengals will face the New Orleans Saints on November 11th coming out of the bye. If they want to come out with another big win, they will need Green healthy and on the field.
