The Cincinnati Bengals own the No. 1 overall pick in this week's NFL Draft, and while there was some deliberation as to whether or not the Bengals would trade the pick, the general consensus is that they will ultimately take LSU quarterback Joe Burrow.

Head coach Zac Taylor confirmed as much on Wednesday, essentially saying that Cincinnati is sold on Burrow at No. 1:

“We feel very comfortable with him as a prospect,” Taylor said, according to Ben Baby of ESPN.com. “We talked to a lot of guys but certainly formed a really good relationship with Joe and been really impressed with everything we've seen from him.”

The Bengals have not yet told Burrow that he will be their pick, but ESPN's Dianna Russini said that it's an intentional ploy on the part of Cincy to allow Burrow to relish the moment when the Bengals take him with the top selection.

“He's as advertised,” added Taylor. “All the things we heard about him, we saw from our first meeting with him and as we've gotten to know him over the last couple weeks.”

Burrow is coming off of a junior campaign that many consider being the best collegiate season ever for a quarterback. En route to leading LSU to a national championship, Burrow threw for 5,671 yards, 60 touchdowns, and six interceptions while completing 76.3 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 202.

The 23-year-old has even drawn comparisons to Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.

Barring a drastic turn of events, it looks like Burrow will officially become a member of the Bengals on Thursday night.
