Why The Athletics Will Cover The Spread/Win
Michael King hasn't gotten very deep into games, as he's still trying to stretch out his arm after five seasons as primarily a starter with the Yankees. King made it just five innings with his inefficiency in his last start, which opens the Athletics up to capitalize on their only advantage against the Padres. The Athletics bullpen has a 3.44 ERA, while the Padres have a 3.72.
The bullpen advantage leading this section doesn't take anything away from Hogan Harris, but his small sample size on the road isn't enough to take the Athletics. Harris has a 1.00 ERA and WHIP in nine innings on the road this season.
Why The Padres Will Cover The Spread/Win
Michael King's form over the last three starts has been lights out. He struggled in the Middle of May in a start at Coors Field, allowing six earned runs in an 8-0 loss to the Rockies.
